Have you heard of Lulz Security yet?
No?
Well they have your email and password posted up on their site.
Lulz Security is a new ‘company’ out there checking on the security of some bit name websites and hacking into them. Why you may ask, well they do it for the Lulz. Their most recent event, take on the Blackberg Security ‘hacking challenge’. They successfully completed the challenge rather quickly and denied the reward stating “We just do it for the lulz.”
If you hit up the source link you can see a little bit more about them and check out a the sites/companies they have targeted. Keep in mind that they are not doing this to be malicious, stating after they posted Nintendo’s server configuration, “We’re not targeting Nintendo. We love the N64 too much…This is just for the lulz.” Now while I do not agree with everything they are doing I do think that this poses a great opprotunity.
Companies are under pressure from some very very good hackers, who are not doing this hacking to steal information but for the lulz. The way I see it companies are going to suffer for a bit but it gives them a chance to strengthen their security and maybe think twice about how they are doing it.
