Reuters has reported that Apple maybe be giving the iPhone 4 a new take on life. A source to Reuters has said that a lower-priced version of the iPhone 4 featuring 8GB of internal memory is being produced by a Korean company. Analysts speculate that the production of the 8GB iPhone would boost sales in emerging markets.

“Apple may want to push into the emerging market segment where customers want to switch to low- to mid-end smartphones from high-end feature phones, which usually cost $150-200,” said Yuanta Securities analyst Bonnie Chang.

New reports are coming in that the iPhone 5 may launch as early as end-September. A month sooner than the speculated October launch. The new iPhone 5 is said to have a larger screen but look very similar to the current build. Tho to be honest I hope Apple goes in the direction of this “mock-up”, apparently made from real design specs and blue-prints of the new device.

The iPhone 5′s two manufacturers have been told to prepare production capacity for up to 45 million units altogether, the source said. The phone will be made by Hon Hai and Pegatron, the person added.
