Darkness 2 Multiplayer Trailer and Impressions

Phasmatis December 7, 2011 PC, PlayStation 3, XBox 360 No Comments

I’m not going to lie when I heard “multiplayer.” I rolled my eyes and groaned, “Oh, great.”

You see, the last game’s multiplayer was one of those generic tacked on multiplayers because it was a feature at the time that corporations believed had to be in their game in order for them to sell. Then as I watched, I became interested and then excited as it actually sounded  good.

With four unique players (like Left4Dead), each with unique weapons. This time when they say unique, they actually mean freaking UNIQUE instead of the usual shoots faster, or looks different sort of unique. On top of that there is skill trees for each character making it not just another Left4Dead ripoff but something closer to Borderlands.

My biggest concern is that the game might end up like Bioshock 2 where 1/3 of the single player is missing because they wanted to put in a robust multiplayer. Hopefully Darkness 2 single player campaign and features don’t suffer neglect, but instead the game has an extensive multiplayer that goes alongside an extensive single player.
