Would you like to feel like you are one in a million, well according to a new book by Ken Segall, Steve Jobs wanted you to feel like just that; by recreating the Golden Certificate Contest. Steve Jobs wanted to play Willy Wonka for a day by placing a golden certificate with the millionth iMac, and whoever that lucky Charlie would have been would have received a full refund and flown out to Cupertino for a Grand Tour of Apple’s campus. Apparently this idea was not to be taken with a grain of salt; Jobs had supposedly instructed his internal creative group to design a prototype golden certificate. Segall says Jobs wanted to meet the winner in full Willy Wonka attire. But the idea was scrapped due to a California Law that requires competitions to allow entry without requiring a purchase.
