Rumors have been going around for some time about Valve developing the Steam client for Linux dating all the way back to 2010. Well now its official Tech guru and Linux fan Michael Larabel say he visited Valve HQ and was told that the Steam platform is on its way to Linux operating systems. Michael Larabel is expected to detail the specifics when he gets a chance to write it up, for now he has been tweeting tid-bits here and there confirming that the project is in the works.
This is great news for the small but loud user base that is Linux and yet again another smart move by Valve. Call me crazy but seems Valve is positioning itself to be the number one game developer in the world if it isn’t already. They already have everyone wishing they could work at Valve with their unconventional yet liberating work place.
