Google Fiber: A Faster Internet, A Free Internet

Justin Pla July 26, 2012 Android, Asus, Google, Internet, Television No Comments

Google has announced Google Fiber. This is an ISP that will provide internet speeds up to one hundred times faster than today’s average broadband connection. Google is promising download speeds of one thousand Mb per second — which is good for everything. You can now download songs, stream movies, and play games online from multiple devices. Those speeds are a bit difficult to comprehend. That’s all devices at once, with no lag or buffering. Google states Fiber will be both your internet and TV;  it allows you to record up to eight shows at once and will offer you two terabytes of storage.

Google is also offering a free Android tablet with this package, the Nexus 7. You can use this device as a remote for your TV and internet. This alone has my jimmy’s all rustled, in a good way.

The new service will offer free internet at five Mps. This should be fast enough for most peoples purposes. This hyper speed internet will cost you about $70 and $120 with the TV service included. Unfortunately, it appears that Kansas City is the only location that has the service available at this current time. You can pre-register for Google Fiber today.
