SWTOR is going Free-to-Play, does it matter?

Damian Estrada July 31, 2012 Games, PC No Comments

EA has announced that Star Wars the Old Republic is going free to play starting this fall. I wont lie to you and say that I am not excited about this. Part of me is still giddy about the whole idea of a Star Wars MMO, I mean if you are any fan of Lucas you have to at least appreciate the idea. But the reality is that it that the game is shallow and has little to no character, especially at the cost of $15 a month.

Starting this fall “Free Players” get access to the game but have “limited access” to features such as Character Creation Choices, Space Missions, and Travel Features to name a few. It looks as though the developers are using this “free-to-play” option as a gimmick to lure people in. On the other hand it is nice to have another free-to-play game to add to the roster.

Sadly I might bite on this one.
