Halo 4: Might actually be a good game?!

Damian Estrada September 10, 2012 Games, XBox 360 No Comments

Many of us have had a lack of faith in the new Halo game. The last few attempts by Bungie  failed in most gamers eyes. Somehow 343 Industries has manged to restore faith in the franchise. Taking the Master Chief from a has been to a feeling like a new IP. In Game Informer’s most recent issues they showcased images and descriptions of the new classes of Prometheans. The Knight, Watcher, and Crawler add to the cast of surprisingly original enemies.

The Crawlers play cannon fodder while the Watches support the Kngihts. These Prometheans work together as a unit to hunt you down, or something in that fashion. The Knights and Watches remind me of some new outlandish Pokemon that no one really understands, while the Crawlers look very familiar though I cannot place my finger on it.

I hate that I have this feeling of “Halo is the only thing that can save the 360″ flying around in my head. This era of console gaming feels dry and haggard, save for titles like Halo 4. I hope we start expecting studios to pay this much attention  and detail to their games. Even Halo 4′s  limited edition is by far one of my favorites.

As a whole I think this new Halo game should breath some life into the franchise. My only fear is that it will quickly become like all other shooters, dry, stale, and its online play filled with 14 year old swagologist. Much like the last few Halo games Halo 4 will not be making its way to the PC. Possibly one of its biggest failures considering it is being released on an aging console that is about to be replaced.

What do you guys think?

Do you believe in 343, or will this game be another huge flop in the already decaying Halo franchise?
