Mimoco showed off the latest Mimobot USB flash drives in Las Vegas during the CES 2013 trade show. Mimobots are flash drives that are modeled after pop culture characters. These flash drives have a memory storage ranging in between 2gb and 64gb. The latest designs that were introduced were characters from Adventure Time. One of the coolest features of these flash drives is the MimoByte Sound software. When you insert one of these pups into your USB port, each device plays a phrase or sound expressing the characters personality. Right now this function is limited to the Adventure Time, Star Wars, and Star Trek units. If you are a nerd at heart and an avid techie, then these products are for you. I got my hands on a limited edition Batman Mimobot based off The Dark Knight Rises.

Design

My Batman flash drive comes with a nice aesthetic finish. The top of Batman’s cowl comes off to reveal the USB male prong. On the bottom back of the flash drive there is a blue light that indicates the flash drive is actively sending data. The art style is signature to Mimoco’s other products and is so cute in a cartoon fashion. I am very fond of my little Batman USB flash drive.

Specs

The Batman Mimobot is a 2.0 flash drive that holds 8GB of memory. This can store about 2820 eight-megapixel pictures, 2048 MP3 songs, or 500 minutes of MPEG1 video. This size is perfect for storing music files and documents for work or school. The blue light is a data activity indicator. It’s a good idea not to unplug the device while this light is on or it could result in corrupt or loss data. As of now the device (and all of Mimobot’s others) only supports Windows (Vista, XP, 2000, 98SE) and Mac (OS 9.0 or later). Some people have claimed to have success on Linux machines, but as of now, Mimoco does not officially support Linux.

Features

Unfortunately, my Dark Knight doesn’t support the MimoByte Sound Software like the most recent models. It was a bit disappointing to find out my Mimobot won’t be screaming “Where are the files?” However, it does come pre-loaded with wallpapers and icons for your enjoyment.

All in all this is an awesome product if you want to flaunt your favorite pop culture icon! You can purchase this Mimobot and others on Mimoco’s official website.
